OneAyah: Privacy Policy

1. No Accounts, No Personal Data Collection

We Collect Nothing About You

OneAyah requires no registration, user accounts, or logins. SmartLayer Solutions does not operate any user database, analytics backend, or tracking infrastructure for this App. We do not collect, store, or process your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personally identifiable information.

2. Local Data Storage (On-Device Only)

Everything you do in OneAyah stays on your device in a private on-device database and app preferences:

• Quran Text & Word Data: The bundled Quran text (Uthmani and Indo-Pak scripts), transliteration, and word-level data are stored locally on your device.
• Bookmarks: Ayahs you bookmark are saved only on your device.
• Khatm Trackers: Your Quran completion goals, reading positions, and progress percentages are stored only on your device.
• Last Read Position: Your most recent ayah position used to resume reading is stored only on your device.
• Settings: Your theme, Arabic script choice, font sizes, selected reciter, translation language, and toggles are stored only on your device.
• Downloaded Content: Reciter audio packs, ayah timing data, and translation packs you choose to download are stored only on your device for offline use.

None of this local data is ever transmitted to SmartLayer Solutions. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all of it.

3. Network Usage & Content Downloads

The App connects to the internet only to download content you explicitly request or to stream audio you choose to play:

• Reciter Audio Packs: When you select a reciter, the App downloads that reciter's audio files, ayah timing data, and word-level audio clips from our content delivery network so recitation and word-by-word highlighting work offline afterwards.
• Translation Packs: When you choose a translation language, the App downloads that translation pack from our content delivery network for offline use.

These are standard file downloads. No account data, reading history, bookmarks, or personal information are attached to or sent with these requests. As with any internet download, basic network metadata (such as your IP address) is inherently visible to the hosting infrastructure delivering the files.

4. AI Features

OneAyah offers optional on-demand AI features: Surah AI Overviews and Ayah AI Insights. When you tap one of these options, the App submits a prompt containing only the Surah name or ayah reference needed to generate the explanation.

• Only the Surah or ayah reference required for the explanation is sent. No personal data, reading history, or device identifiers are included in these prompts.
• AI features are entirely optional. If you never use them, no data is ever sent to any AI service by the App.
• AI features are available on Android and iOS only.

5. Sharing

When you use the Share or Copy actions on an ayah card, the ayah text, transliteration, and translation are passed to your device's standard system share sheet or clipboard. The shared content goes only to the destination you choose. SmartLayer Solutions never sees or stores anything you share.

6. Advertising & Analytics

OneAyah is completely ad-free and contains no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or tracking libraries of any kind. We do not measure your behavior, and no third party receives behavioral data from the App.

7. App Permissions

The App requests standard Android permissions strictly necessary for audio playback and content downloads:

• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required to download reciter audio, translations, and timing data, and to stream audio you choose to play.
• WAKE_LOCK: Required to keep audio playing without interruption while your screen is off.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE (mediaPlayback): Required for background recitation playback and lock-screen / notification controls.

8. Security

All content downloads and network requests are made over secure, encrypted HTTPS connections. Your bookmarks, Khatm progress, settings, and downloaded content remain strictly within your device's private app storage, inaccessible to other apps.

9. Children's Privacy

OneAyah is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since the App collects no personal data from anyone, there is no children's data to retain or delete. If you have concerns about a minor's use of the App, please contact us.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon publishing the revised policy with an updated "Last updated" date.
